Summary: In this article, it is arguing that the fair or foul of Financial Fair Play System. It is told that there was always a need to find ways to keep up the competition between the increasingly richer clubs and the financially inferior ones. The competition results in the rise of interest for the sport and hence the revenues and hence the ability to attract investors. So when this rule puts the brakes on the free flowing investment, it actually hinders the competition and draws the limiting borders between the clubs. The rich clubs already have an upper hand in terms of revenues and hence shall stay ahead of the the less richer clubs. We’v come to stage where the vast schism between the infrastructures of different clubs can only be filled by improved investments. Therefore, the need is not to curtail the investments but to make sure that they are competitively distributed.
Tomorrow, a club as lucrative as everton might not attract investors, as the first thought on investor’s mind would be the ordeal he might have to go through in making ‘his’ club a competitive and successful one. He first would have to ensure that his club makes the right amount of money that he wants to spend. The rule is not the end of the world but, ambitious owners will definitely think twice before entering the market.
