Chapters 8 to 10 (They Say I Say)

In these three chapters: it is provided some good information about connecting people's thoughts in the essays. For these readings, it is purposed to understand implementing the metacommentary using in essays. There are some useful words to understand transitional words in order to create a different view on author's idea.
In Chapter 9, it is mentioned that using sophisticated words is not necessary on writings. Authors should use some words, which provide easy connection between the writer and audience. It is important that writer should control his/her audience, if he/she writes for specific group.
In Chapter 10, it is talked about understanding the point, which you are trying to get metacommentary. When we read the techniques of this model, we can say that these solutions can be a helpful way for the people who are not enough to compete their page limits. I think it would be helpful for me because sometimes I really get hardships to complete my page limits.

Summary: In this article, the author talks about what is the Financial Fair Play and How will UEFA enforce it. It would be extraordinary to have this fanfare and then not see it through. I think it will work because Platini’s credibility is on the line. I went along to the select committee’s investigation into football governance and there is genuine belief that this will change the way things are done. To have this momentum and then not enforce it would be the end of Platini and the end of Uefa versus the clubs.

I think this article would help me about the views of head-managers of UEFA in order to understand well what the Financial Fair Play system is and how will the big clubs effected.

Summary: In this article; the editor mentioned that Most people use the term 'Financial Fair Play' (FFP) to refer to UEFA's requirement for clubs to balance their books. However the UEFA FFP rules are actually 90 pages long and cover much more than the need to 'Break Even  For example, they specify that clubs keep up-to-date with their taxes, their transfer fees and pay player wages on time. Although clubs have been punished under the FFP banner for having 'overdue payables' (Malaga have been banned from UEFA competition next year for falling behind on their tax and wages), the main concern for Premier League clubs is the Break Even requirement.

I think this article would be more helpful to clear the definiton and rules of Financial Fair Play System. In my Op-Ed essay, I would get some beneficial information from this article.

Mission Accomplished?

In this Op-Ed article, the author, Marissa Wolfe, talks about the Military Women, who are not getting enough care after ending service. She also mentions the high budget of the Department of Vertain Affairs, approximately 140 billion $, and how they used this huge amount instead helping women, who damaged their own duty. She claims that America has a fear about their enemies, but if they don't enough care his own servers, who are working for their country, it will be inevitable that they get one powerful enemy too. It is also said that these women are not feeling safety. For example; they got some attacks from their friends and they started to carry on some knifes just because of feeling more safety in these areas. Some of these women, who got attacked by others, feel ashamed and most of them are avoiding to say what happened.

After reading this Op-Ed, I think that the Department of Vertain Affairs didn't care so much the women, who got attacks by others because I believe that the results of investigations, about the commiting of suicides under their consultant, are not reflecting the exact informations about the women. It is also known that there are some women who don't report their problems, still living their ashames and depressive feelings just because of before experiences. However, Vertain Affairs still doesn't care their feelings and they are still selecting other women...

My Financial Fair Play Topic Proposal

In recent discussions of Financial Fair Play Model on European Soccer Clubs, a controversial issue has been whether this system would be beneficial for club's finances or not. On the one hand, some argue that this would be beneficial for clubs. From this perspective, they claim that the financial gap between big clubs and small clubs will be more smaller and soccer may get more fair sport for everyone. On the other hand, however, others argue that this system would not beneficial for clubs. In the words of Financial Fair Play is making the rich richer, one of this view's main proponents, "fair". According to this view, they claimed that this system is making the rich richer and keeping the poor in business with less power. In sum, then, the issue is whether this Financial Fair Play System would be beneficial for European soccer clubs or not.

My own view is that it would be beneficial for clubs. Though I concede that, it wouldn't be fair model for all clubs, I still maintain that most of European soccer clubs would be benefited by this system. For example; it would prevent big transfers with big amounts and by this way player can choose his decides more willingly. Although some might object that this system would be crack down in the future, I would reply that this system would be run successfully. The issue is important because soccer is gaining by some of clubs, whose financial power is more than others and it has to be prevent by someone and UEFA is willing to take responsibility to solve this problem. If this problem solves, soccer will be more beautiful game like in the past.

Summary: In this article, it is talking about the new system in the European Soccer: The Financial Fair Play Model. It is said that most of soccer clubs have to be a part of this model because if they don't think being a part of this systemi,, they would not be any big tournaments or organizations.

The clubs in all three divisions voted in favour of developing the 'rigorous new measures' following a presentation by Andrea Traverso, UEFA's head of club licensing and financial fair play. The Football League's move reflects concern over income - the their new £195million domestic TV deal is a 26 per cent drop on the previous one. Debt in Football League clubs now totals £700million and a report this week by analysts Deloitte found that more than one third of clubs are paying out more in wages than they received in revenue.

Summary: In this article, it is seen that there is a interview helded by Jean-Luc Dehaene, the man UEFA President Michel Platini. This interview is helded on a Financial Fair Play issue. Dehaene says UEFA wants clubs to balance their books over a three-year period starting from the 2013-14 season but the first season that actually counts is this one, so the initial period under the FFP guidelines is actually two years, not three. If balanced books sound like a leap for European football's more spendthrift sides (most of them, then) it's because it is, which is why there is plenty of sugar with the FFP medicine.

For the last five years, all clubs wanting to play in the Champions or Europa League competitions have needed a Uefa licence. To obtain one of these, the clubs submit audited accounts and prove they have no outstanding payments to players, each other or the tax authorities. "The new rules are only possible because of the experience we have from the licensing system," Dehaene said. "The difference is a licence gives you a photo of a club's finances, FFP will give you a film."

Summary: In this article; the following issue is that England Championship clubs making losses of more than £6m will be fined millions of pounds or put under a transfer embargo from the 2014-15 season. It is said that Three of the 24 clubs voted against new regulations to limit investment from owners and curb total spending.
The changes will also prevent owners from funding their clubs through loans.
Clubs promoted to the Premier League that fail to adhere to the amendments must pay a fair-play tax on their losses, ranging from 1% on the first £100,000 to 100% on anything over £10m. Clubs relegated to the Championship will not be subject to sanctions in their first season as long as they have met their financial obligations under Premier League regulations. They would, however, have to pay the fair-play tax if they did not comply with the new regulations and got promoted. The new regulations are based on Uefa'sbreak-even model of Financial Fair Play and come after the Football League's research revealed the 72 clubs of the Championship, League One and League Two are on course to accumulate £2bn of debt.

Summary: In this article; it is mostly talking about the Financial Fair Play In European Club Football An Economic Analysis. It is issued that in order to ensure long-term financial stability and to restore the competitive balance, the UEFA’s Executive Committee,in agreement with the European Club Association
(ECA), unanimously approved a set of rules called “Financial Fair Play” that will come into force with the end of the current season in 2012.

Financial Fair Play implies that for the first time there will be a harmonized, European-wide and much tighter regulation for all European clubs. According to the UEFA, Financial Fair Play provides a regulatory framework that prevents clubs from fall into a debt spiral while ensuring competition based only on the resources they generate on their own.

Summary: In this article, it is arguing that the fair or foul of Financial Fair Play System. It is told that there was always a need to find ways to keep up the competition between the increasingly richer clubs and the financially inferior ones. The competition results in the rise of interest for the sport and hence the revenues and hence the ability to attract investors. So when this rule puts the brakes on the free flowing investment, it actually hinders the competition and draws the limiting borders between the clubs. The rich clubs already have an upper hand in terms of revenues and hence shall stay ahead of the the less richer clubs. We’v come to stage where the vast schism between the infrastructures of different clubs can only be filled by improved investments. Therefore, the need is not to curtail the investments but to make sure that they are competitively distributed.

Tomorrow, a club as lucrative as everton might not attract investors, as the first thought on investor’s mind would be the ordeal he might have to go through in making ‘his’ club a competitive and successful one. He first would have to ensure that his club makes the right amount of money that he wants to spend. The rule is not the end of the world but, ambitious owners will definitely think twice before entering the market.

Summary:  In this article, it is discussing that Daniel Striani, who is a Belgian Agent, and Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations: the new Bosman? There is a bacckground information about what the Financial Fair Play is.
The spending of football clubs, particularly those licensed by and under the jurisdiction of UEFA has long been an issue and a point of debate within the sport. In England, whilst commercial revenues have continued to rise (the Premier League sold the domestic broadcast rights alone for seasons 2013-2016 for £3.018bn), that has not necessarily reflected itself on the balance sheet, with many clubs having experienced falling operating profits and pre-tax losses.

Some clubs have been able to operate as normal, and indeed expand squads and wage bills, as losses were underwritten by wealthy investors and benefactors. Other clubs have operated at levels above their means, gambling player wages against receipt of broadcasting revenue, a strategy which has on more than one occasion led  to insolvency events involving high profile clubs.

UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino  insists that the positives of the system are already in evidence."The FFP rules have been introduced and implemented not to punish the clubs, but to help the clubs. We said a year ago that this was the last wake-up call for clubs and that the rules have teeth, and the clubs are into it. They are implementing the rules not because there are sanctions, but because at the end of the day it is better for them as well to have a sustainable business model."

Rogerian Rhetoric: An Alternative to Traditional Rhetoric

In this essay, Rogerian Rhetoric: An Alternative to Traditional Rhetoric, the author talks about the teaching and learning this Rogerian Rhetoric to students and teachers. There are several chapters on this essay in order to understand clearly what the Rogerion Rhetoric purposes are and what the criticisms about this Rhetoric. In first step, for example, it is talking about the background of that Rhetoric. It is said that Rogerian therapy informs rhetoric by offering a new way of thinking about the means of inducing change. The second step, it is talking about Rogerian Rhetoric in the Writing classroom. In this step, it is told that Rogerian rhetoric is often tried and dismissed as impractical, too difficult for students to use, too difficult to teach, or too easy for students to misinterpret as a particularly sly form of manipulation. The other and I think most important part is Criticisms of Rogerian Rhetoric. In this step, the strengths and weaknesses about Rhetoric are told clearly and provide people no question marks on their brains.

I think this essay is more helpful for me about understanding what the Rogerian Rhetoric is. There are some examples from author, who experienced with his students and teachers to understand and teach that Rhetoric. It is also more advantegous for me about the reading of criticisms. By this way; I learned what are the weaknesses and strenghts of Rogerian Rhetoric.

The Case For Affirmative Action (Analyzing Editorial and Opinion Pieces)

In this essay, the author talks about his experiences and views about Affirmative Action. According to him, he was attended to college with the help of this Action and by this way he thinks that Americans must keep this Action. He is also disagree with the critics that this action is no longer needed or unfairly discriminated. He thinks that this Action is helpful for giving a chance to people about their talents and abilities. He experienced of many of his minority classmates is a ringing endorsement of Affirmative Action. He hoped that one day American people will no longer need Affirmative Action.

In my opinion, the author had a good foreseeing view. What he hoped in the past, are becoming a reality in American life. There is no Affirmative Action anymore and no race or class distincition between students. By this way, American people get more powerful as a society.

What's Up With The American Dream? (They Say I Say)

In this essay; the author tries to tell the American Dream. According to him, the faith in American Dream, in the United States as a land of opportunity, dates back to a claim made in the 18th century by the French writer Crevecoeur. He thought that what made the "New American" unique, in contrast to oppressed classes in monarchical societies, was the opportunity to reap "the rewards of One's industry. There are some writers view in this essay and they claimed mutually that faith in American Dream has been undermined by a combination of global economic developments and government policies that have perilously widened the gulf between the very rich and the rest of them. At the end of the essay; it is said that Barack Obama argues for the importance of ensuring the continued existence of the American Dream for all despite differences in race, class, and education.

In my opinion; I found in this essay that variety of perspectives about American Dream and now I am feeling more wise about this important issue.

Hiding From Reality (They Say I Say)

In this essay; the author criticizes that there is no American Dream left anymore. When people look at the economy, jobs, public school and budget deficits, it is clear to understand that most of these aspects are going to sad shape. According to the author, considering a foreign-born workers, U.S needs to develop a full employment economy that provides jobs for all who want to work at pay. American people still don't have the money to pay for the wars that they insist on fighting year after year. The public school systems has another important role. Public schooling built the finest higher educational system in the world and Americans need to understand the importance of educating.

In my opinion; I agree with writer and I also think that American people are unaware about their economical situaiton. When we look at the jobless rate around the country, it is clear to understand that America is in really big deep hole.
