In this essay, Rogerian Rhetoric: An Alternative to Traditional Rhetoric, the author talks about the teaching and learning this Rogerian Rhetoric to students and teachers. There are several chapters on this essay in order to understand clearly what the Rogerion Rhetoric purposes are and what the criticisms about this Rhetoric. In first step, for example, it is talking about the background of that Rhetoric. It is said that Rogerian therapy informs rhetoric by offering a new way of thinking about the means of inducing change. The second step, it is talking about Rogerian Rhetoric in the Writing classroom. In this step, it is told that Rogerian rhetoric is often tried and dismissed as impractical, too difficult for students to use, too difficult to teach, or too easy for students to misinterpret as a particularly sly form of manipulation. The other and I think most important part is Criticisms of Rogerian Rhetoric. In this step, the strengths and weaknesses about Rhetoric are told clearly and provide people no question marks on their brains.
I think this essay is more helpful for me about understanding what the Rogerian Rhetoric is. There are some examples from author, who experienced with his students and teachers to understand and teach that Rhetoric. It is also more advantegous for me about the reading of criticisms. By this way; I learned what are the weaknesses and strenghts of Rogerian Rhetoric.
